Vietnam House Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

We’ve been to the restaurant quite a bit, our Vietnamese restaurant of choice, but never with Little E, until very recently. I actually didn’t know the name of the place, as we’ve always referred to it as “the Vietnamese place in Woden” πŸ™‚Β I love Vietnamese food, I find them very fresh and light, quite different to most cuisine. I have yet to have a bad dish from Vietnam House, every single one I have had has been delicious, of generous serving size, reasonably priced and like most Asian restaurants, served quite quickly.

This past visit was not different. We ordered four different dishes, all coming at around the same time and were yummy. Little E was able to sample every single dish and loved it. He was seated in his own high chair, and was given his own cutleries and bowl. The waitresses were friendly and left us to our food.

One interesting info: when we first went to the restaurant, we were served by a little girl, whom I assume is the owner’s daughter. On this visit, we were served by the same girl, but this time, she’s so grown up! I feel so so old!!! πŸ™‚

Anyway, you could always tell when I enjoyed my experience at a restaurant when I have no photos whatsoever to post πŸ™‚ I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Vietnam House and recommend it for families with young children.

On a separate note, day 33 of 100: my outfit today makes me happy, featuring my new jumper. I love prints and mixing them with each other πŸ™‚

I have to thank Mr E for not saying anything other than “all your purchases are lovely” when I showed him what I had spent our money on recently πŸ™‚

Our Chinese New Year celebration

I identify myself more as an Australian, having lived here longer than living in Indo. However, I find that the older I get, the more proud I am of my Chinese Indo heritage. So I really want Little E to know this part of him, so I try to make this year’s celebration as festive as I can. It’s actually his second new year, but like Christmas, he’s aware of things more this time around.

image

On new year’s eve, we had a simple dinner at home with nectarines and oranges for dessert. We stuck to Little E’s nightly routine so we didn’t do anything special.

image

This morning, he received his first red pockets! He didn’t know what to do with them and abandoned them after only a few seconds lol I also had bought him a new red outfit to wear. Mr E and I didn’t get the same pleasure of getting new outfits but we’re wearing our reddest clothes we have πŸ˜‰

Lunch was more en-point with BBQ pork, roasted duck, roast pork and beancurd. It was a feast! Little E’s present for me was a 2.5 hours nap in the morning, sooooo good! πŸ˜‰ For dinner tonight, Mr E is making some noodles, an auspicious dish to represent long life.

If you celebrate the Chinese New Year, I hope the year of the horse brings you a joyful, prosperous, healthy and full life! From my family to yours, Gong Xi Fat Choi! πŸ™‚

OOTD and today’s Bento lunch

image

Little E is wearing his robot board shorts and a giraffe tshirt. No shoes today as he kicks them off and I really don’t want to lose them!

Today’s Bento Box includes PB sandwich rounds (with yummy homemade bread courtesy of Mr E), cheese sticks, peeled apple bits, and steamed zucchini.

Baby OOTD and Bento Lunch

Here’s my little man today, wearing classic boy colours: red, navy blue and gray. He has a fascination with our door stops, apparently they taste delicious πŸ™‚

image

This is what he had for lunch today: Homemade “baked” beans, cheese sticks and slices of peeled apples. I loved making this bento box for him, I can’t wait until I can make proper ones when he goes to school πŸ™‚ my dear Japanese friend, E, gave us the cute Mickey Mouse stick and pink bear pick – I love them!

OOTD to the Handmade Market

image

I’m wearing my Japan tshirt, ikat print Cotton On shorts and a black knitted vest. Check out my little man’s Old Navy loafers with mustaches on them, cute right? πŸ™‚ They’re one of many from Grandma, she really does spoil him.

We went to the Handmade Market today, there were so many things that I liked, I was too overwhelmed. In the end, like always when I am given too many choices, I end up with none or very little 😦 Luckily, Mr E knocked some senses into me and we got a cronut and some macarons. Phew! Lucky he came πŸ˜‰

I also bought a “what would be a top for normal people but is a tunic for me” tunic. It’s in the wash right now, so I’m sure it will be featured in my OOTD posts soon.

OOTD and my #firstworldproblem

A Sailor-themed Peter Alexander Men’s shirt (worn as a tunic top), my Dotti pants again and a pair of black Rockport flats.

My lovebug’s outfit was picked out by daddy and I’m impressed πŸ™‚ A stripped polo with his Esprit chino ($5 from a consignment shop).

I’m trying out my “an oldie but a goodie” Coach bag today because I’m having such a #firstworldproblem with deciding on a new nappy bag. I don’t want to break my 2 year streak of saving up and not buying a bag for just any bag. So when I’m normally picky, I am now super duper picky. Β

It’s Mr E’s last day of work today, so we’re going to make the most of it. Have a great day, everybody! Β :

OOTD of a sleep-deprived mum

I’m wearing an Emily Strange tshirt (another good buy from 2006!) and my ikat print Cotton On shorts. Little man is wearing his adorable RL pastel green onesie. Β Please ignore his drool patch (he’s forever teething!)

Last night, I was reminded how tiring and difficult parenthood could be. Here we are, on a holiday, and we’re up half the night trying to get a hysterical crying baby to sleep. We also learnt how easy it is to just take the simple way out, anything to stop him crying and just sleep already!

Before I continue, I would like to emphasize again that as parents, you decide what you think is best for your baby. No matter what people say, either praises or criticism, you know what is best. Ultimately, it is your decision as parents. Β therefore, Β what I say on my posts, should not make you question your decision. Please do take it on board, if you like, and review whether your original thoughts are right. But please, don’t take what I write about as an indirect criticism of you πŸ™‚

Anyway, one of our decisions was that we will not be co-sleeping. Was. Because we did last night. We were tired and little E just wanted to be held. So we put him in between us, cuddled him, and we slept for a full 4 hours. Β  I have to say, it was nice cuddling him to sleep. It was also lovely to wake up with him slobbering all over my face. I like to think that I woke up to his kisses today πŸ™‚

We’re off to see our friends and their adorable baby of little E’s age today. Hopefully, after their playing around, and a swim this afternoon, would tire little E out and he’ll sleep better tonight!

My new favourite oat-coloured asymmetrical dress and Novo sandals. Β

Check out little E’s awesome super hero outfit! πŸ™‚

Mr E has whisked us to Sydney this long weekend, I am very much looking forward to the amazing array of delicious food and great shopping expeditions! Most importantly, the warm weather!

A red tshirt from Threadless with a pair of Zara baroque-patterned jeans and sparkley shoes from Novo.

The weather has been really weird here lately in Canberra, so I also have a black Tommy Hilfiger cable knitted jacket with me. It was one of my best buys of my life! 35AUD from David Jones and it has lasted me for 6 years so far. DJ really does have great sales πŸ™‚
